MAURY STERLING
Maury was born and raised in Mill Valley, California. As a kid he loved spending time at Muir Beach with his dog Fred, riding his Mongoose and doing local theater. Growing up, he was fortunate enough to be exposed to a wide variety of artists and teachers; the likes of Joseph Campbell, Mickey Hart, the Gyoto Monks, his Holiness the Dalai Lhama, Peter Coyote, Lorna Strand and others. He was also fotunate to travel a great deal; Crete, France, Scotland, England, and Canada.
He went to Elementary School at Old Mill School, Middle School at Marin Country Day School, and High School at San Francisco University High School. Accepted at Stanford University (where his grandfather Wally Sterling had been president for many years), and UCLA, Maury chose to go to UCLA to get some distance from home and take a serious stab at Los Angeles.
Upon graduating from UCLA, Maury dove into life as a full-time professional actor. He continued his studies at Circle in the Square in NY and ACT in San Francisco before settling back down in Los Angeles. A founding member of the award winning Buffalo Nights Theatre Co. he kept busy with theater while starting to find some paid work. His small role in OUTBREAK as Sandman helped him find a manager and agents.
Over the years Maury has appeared in numerous commercials, guest spots, shorts, films and tv series. He recently produced and starred in the the web pilot "Bedlam". His recent role as Max in HOMELAND has been a true privilege. And Maury can currently be seen as a series regular on the Steven Spielberg-produced CBS drama EXTANT, starring Halle Berry.
In his off-time, Maury likes to spend time with his dogs, his family, riding horses, practicing kung fu, and getting away to Montana at the G-M Ranch. He is proud to be married to the beautiful Alexis Boozer Sterling.

TV credits include Extant, Homeland,the ABC Pilot Gilded Lily’s, In Plain Sight, Longmire, Private Practice, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Lie to Me, Dollhouse, Cold, Case, Close to Home, 24, ER, Criminal Minds, CSI Miami, Judging Amy, CSI, Without a Trace, Crossing Jordan, Angel, The Pretender, and numerous others.
Theatre credits include Crazy Drunk, J.B., The Madman and the Nun, Firebugs, Modigliani, Out at Sea, Incident at Vichy, Meat, all performed with Buffalo Nights. He has also appeared in Measure for Measure at A Noise Within, Love and Understanding at the Lilian, Fedunn at the Odyssey, and Judgement at Nuremberg at ICT.
